Mark’s musical versatility screams out loud, weaving together rock, blues, folk, country, and more. Travis-style, Chicago blues, honky tonk country, finger-style folk—all are there when you hear him. He could, at any given time, toss a Paul McCartney or John Fogerty or Woodie Guthrie song into his set.
His songs are often autobiographic pieces, constructed from the viewpoint of a lifelong troubadour who is paying attention to the world he sees around him.
The two started performing together thirty-five years ago when they worked ‘suit’ jobs at IBM. Both draw from their Irish heritage for material—from traditional Irish ballads to original songs of love, drinking, revolution and redemption.
Sandy is a former songwriter on Music Row (Tree-Sony/ATV) in Nashville, and toured nationally and internationally with the band Cullowhee for 10 years. George started singing and playing after his first visit to New York’s Greenwich Village in the mid-1960s, and honed his craft by traveling throughout Ireland with the great Tommy Makem.
