The Folk School of Chattanooga is here to to preserve, perpetuate, and promote folk music forms with a focus on regional and local musical traditions. The teachers at the School offer private lessons year-round for banjo, fiddle, guitar, dobro, pedal steel guitar, upright bass, Irish flute, tin whistle, singing, piano, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, and mandolin.

John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina, offers traditional crafts and music taught at all levels.  Here you can learn to make musical instruments and to play the mountain music from beginner to advanced levels.
